Nursing Homes
These facilities, licensed by the New York State Department of Health, provide skilled nursing services and custodial care to resident adults. The State Office for the Aging's Long Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP) provides trained community volunteers who advocate on behalf of residents of nursing homes, adult homes, and other long term care residences. Ombudsmen receive complaints, investigate and help resolve problems.
